Danielle Harold shares love for EastEnders co-star as they enjoy 'their song'

EastEnders icon Danielle Harold shared her love for co-star Jamie Borthwick after they enjoyed a night out together at an award ceremony.

The actress, who plays Lola Pearce in the BBC One soap, documented the evening at the Broadcast Awards, at which EastEnders was nominated for Best Soap.

The 30-year-old shared a mirror selfie she took with Jamie, who plays her on-screen husband Jay Brown, who she referred to as ‘my love’ in the caption, followed by a heart emoji.

We love them.

Danielle later shared a number of videos on her Instagram stories of she and Jamie in a taxi on the way home. The last clip seen the two pals singing along to Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton, which was used during Lola and Jay’s wedding scenes earlier this year.

‘Always be our song,’ wrote Danielle. ‘I love you @jamie_b10’.

The two soap stars are at the centre of a big EastEnders storyline right now, with Lola having recently discovered that she’s got a terminal brain tumour.

Lola’s loved ones vowed to support her through her ordeal, with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) doing everything in his power to afford specialists and potential clinical trials, but more heartache followed, with one doctor telling Lola that there are ‘rarely’ miracle cures in cases like hers.

Jay, meanwhile, decided to pop the question over the festive season and, despite Lola initially having doubts about his reasons for wanting to tie the knot, she ultimately said yes, with the two getting wed in romantic scenes last month.

‘They’ve got a lot of history, and I do feel that Lola is the one for Jay,’ Jamie said of the two characters’ reunion last year. ‘So, it just made sense that they would get back together at some point.’

Having worked with Danielle on the show for over 10 years, Jamie added that they have a great working relationship.

‘We have a laugh on set, we know each other inside out, and we know what makes each other laugh,’ he revealed. ‘We know when it’s time to be serious, we know when it’s time to be silly.’
