Danny Dyer confirms he will return to EastEnders if new career goes 't*** up'
Good news, EastEnders fans: Mick Carter may be back!
Appearing on an upcoming episode The Jonathon Ross Show, Danny Dyer will that he’d be open to a return to the BBC soap.
‘If [my career] goes t**s up I can go back. I can turn up in three years’ time, walk in the Queen Vic smothered in seaweed…’ he claims.
Now, we have absolutely no ill will against Danny’s career post EastEnders, but we can’t help longing to see Mick back behind the bar in the Queen Vic.
It would certainly solve a lot of problems for Linda (Kellie Bright).
Mick Carter was declared missing at sea on Christmas Day 2022, leaving fans all over the nation heartbroken.
Mick’s body was never found, so he has not yet been declared dead, and Danny explained the reason for that.
‘They wanted to keep it open. I’m very privileged and grateful for that job. It really did change my career and my life.’
Since leaving EastEnders, Danny has flown to Australia to film for a new four-part Channel 5 drama called Heat.
The action thriller centres on two families who are long-time friends, as they venture to a secluded home for a summer vacation against the backdrop of the looming Australian bushfire season.
It is not just acting that has kept him busy, as he will soon be seen hosting new game show Cheat, alongside comedian and Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant Ellie Taylor.
So, it sounds like it may be a while until Danny is ready to step back into Mick’s shoes, but when he does, we will be ready and waiting!
The Jonathan Ross Show will air at 9:40pm on Saturday February 25 on ITV and ITVX.
