Netflix subscribers have been waiting two years for Dead to Me to return for its third and final outing. Jen (played by Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) have gone to Mexico for a break but it is bittersweet as it’s time to say goodbye. Express.co.uk has everything there is to know about how Dead to Me season three ended.
Jen and Judy escape the Greeks
Jen and Judy decided to take a last-minute vacation to Mexico as Judy was suffering from stage four cervical cancer.
But they were still being followed by the Greek mafia who find them before crossing the border.
They tell them Judy has cancer and needs to go to their car’s glove compartment to get her medicine but this was just an excuse to pull out a gun.
Judy shoots a couple of bullets into the Greeks’ car and force them to hand over their weapons.
Thankfully, the best friends manage to escape before they are followed by the dangerous men again.
Ted’s killer car is in Mexico
When they arrived at Steve Wood’s (James Marsden) holiday home in Mexico, they discover the mustang that ran over Jen’s husband Ted.
They thought they destroyed it before Steve shipped it out of the country and put it back together again while it was abroad.
Pregnant Jen is, at first, upset but then tells Judy everything that had happened led to meeting her.
She then starts to bleed out and is told that it is an issue with her placenta but luckily, everything is fine and Jen was going to have a little girl.
Glenn Moranis is dead
Jen and Judy go out to a restaurant to celebrate the good news when they receive a call from Ben Wood (Marsden).
He reveals that FBI agent Glenn Moranis (Garret Dillahunt), who was tasked with finding Steve’s killer, was found dead in his hotel room with a half-eaten scone from Jen on the bedside table.
She had earlier joked how she would murder Glenn by feeding him poison scones and Jen did have a meeting with him.
She was going to falsely claim that she was sleeping with Steve and make Glenn believe the Greeks were behind his death.
Exactly how Glenn died isn’t explained but it is heavily implied that Jen may have poisoned him with the scones.

Judy is gone for good
Judy falls over from the pain caused by her terminal illness and tells Jen that she wants to die in Mexico.
They say their goodbyes in the evening and when Jen wakes up, Judy is gone, having left a farewell note for her.
Judy sailed the boat into the ocean and never returned so it is believed that she died at sea.
Jen drives back to the USA in the mustang and imagines Judy beside her, telling her friend that she’ll never leave her.
It is shown that Jen has the baby and calls her Joey instead of Judy, just in case the child is one-day gender fluid.
Jen tells Ben the truth?
The final scene shows Jen playing with Joey in the pool with her other children having fun and Ben, Joey’s dad, coming over to sit next to her.
He tells Jen he never thought he could be happy again after his twin’s death.
This is when Jen looks over at Ben and tells him that she has something to say but the series ends there, so it’s not known if she admits to killing his brother or not.
Dead to Me is available to watch on Netflix.
