Death in Paradise reunion as Florence star teases Beyond Paradise role
Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise cast united in crossover
Actress Joséphine Jobert played Death in Paradise sergeant Florence Cassell for several years before leaving the BBC crime-drama in series 11. However, fans could see her reprise the role once again as the 37-year-old could appear in the spin-off Beyond Paradise.
Florence’s exit on the BBC drama rocked viewers as the sergeant made the decision to leave Saint Marie for her own safety.
Going undercover to infiltrate a criminal gang, the situation quickly escalated and forced her to leave the island for good.
During her time on the long-running show, the officer worked closely with DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little), with Neville developing romantic feelings for her.
Although her swift exit left Neville heartbroken, it looks as though Florence could be reunited with her former boss Humphrey once again.
The actress recently touched on the possibility of her character popping up in the BBC spin-off show Beyond Paradise, which follows Humphrey and Martha Lloyd’s (Sally Bretton) new lives in Devon.
In an Instagram Q&A, the star said: “It’s not officially planned yet. But, it’s a possibility that we discussed with the producer some time ago.
“So we’ll see if that will happen. But I would love to anyway. It would be a very nice wink.”
It wouldn’t be the first time fans of the Paradise franchise would’ve seen a cross-over of the two shows as Humphrey returned to Saint Marie in the series finale of Beyond Paradise.
Following a breakup with Martha, the detective fled his new Devonshire town of Shipton Abbot and looked for comfort from his old friend Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington).
Fans were thrilled to see the two series collide with many calling for more character crossovers in the future.
With Beyond Paradise being renewed for a second series and a festive special, it’s possible more familiar faces could pop up, including Florence Cassell.
Speaking about Beyond Paradise’s response from viewers, executive producer Tim Key confessed the production team is thrilled.
