EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Lisa Fowler twist as she makes explosive return

EastEnders fans think they have "rumbled" a twist as Lisa Fowler made an explosive return to Albert Square after three years on Monday.

Lisa, who is played by Lucy Benjamin, first made her debut on the BBC One soap in 1998 and was last seen on-screen in 2020.

During Monday's episode, Lisa and Peggy Jr made a bombshell arrival back in Walford with an agenda as Lisa set her sights on making Keanu Taylor pay for what he did to her daughter Louise Mitchell.

Fans will recall that Louise became pregnant with Keanu’s baby during his affair with Sharon Watts, where he also fathered son, Albie, with the latter.

However, Louise struggled to cope with being a young mum to Peggy Jr as her mental health suffered and she thought she had a part in Keanu’s death, which was faked, as she headed to Portugal for a new life with mum Lisa.

During Monday's episode, it was clear to see that Lisa was having money troubles as she ran away from her cab driver to avoid paying the fare.

And it wasn't long until Lisa's return got round Albert Square as Sonia Fowler invited her around for a coffee, where Lisa explained that things are rough in Portugal with Louise, claiming she’s gone off the rails.

Elsewhere, Keanu and Sharon excitedly planned the wddding of their dreams with the latter handing him over money to book the venue with a deposit.

However, it wasn't long until Lisa's return fed back to Keanu as he rushed over to see his daughter and grill Lisa about her reasons for being back in Walford.

And Lisa was soon demanding money as child maintenance, ordering Keanu to hand over £3K upfront.

Protesting her demands, Keanu said: "Sharon will kill me, Lisa, it's meant to be our wedding money!" to which Lisa threatened she would leave Walford immediately with Peggy Jr if he didn't pay up.

Reluctantly, Keanu handed over the wad of cash as he pointed out: "This isn't you, Lisa, what's happened" to which she replied: "You happened" before storming off with the money.

Viewers now think they've rumbled the real reason for Lisa's return and have predicted a twist.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Is Lisa on the run by any chance? #EastEnders."

A different account put: "Lisa is definitely lying #eastenders."

Another viewer wrote: "I bet Lisa needs Keanu consent for Legal Guardianship. #EastEnders."

While a different soap watcher added: "Is Louise in jail? #eastenders."

EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
