Emmerdale Harriet actors sweet life away from soap with best pal co-stars

Emmerdale's Katherine Dow Blyton has spoken out about her life away from the ITV soap.

The Harriet actress is a fan-favourite on the show and has been a regular character since 2013.

Away from the dales Katherine explained that she spends a lot of time with her co-stars Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley who are known as Rhona Goskirk and Cain Dingle on the show.

Katherine told Inside Soap: “Out of work, I spend a lot of time with Jeff Hordley and Zoe Henry. They live around the corner.

“We do dog walks together and I’m on watering duties at their allotment when they are away.”

Jeff and Zoe are a couple offscreen and got married in 2003.

Katherine also explained that Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, is another of her close friends.

She said that Laura "makes her laugh" the most and is a real "scream".

When asked if it was possible that her character could be leaving the soap, she teased: “Well, you never know, do you? That’s showbiz, one minute you are here and the next you're not here.”

Emmerdale is set for a huge storm and producers have confirmed that many characters will be left in serious danger.

Harriet told The Express that "it’s a risk you take" with the job.

She explained: "Whatever happens you get to be involved in some fabulous storylines, so you have to seize the day.”

To kick off the anniversary storylines, Emmerdale will start with beloved character Faith losing her battle to breast cancer.

Executive producer Jane Hudson explained: "As we start our birthday month, we'll be focusing on our Faith storyline, which is a huge storyline for us at the moment.

"Then we will work our way into our storm week.

"The Faith story is such an emotional and heartbreaking story. It's going to be huge across our 50th.

"I think everybody involved in that story is pulling out some of the most amazing performances I've seen in soap for a long time. So that's got a huge part to play."

Emmerdale has been known to kill off some surprising characters during their special episodes, and with the 50th anniversary of the soap pending, it seems no one is safe.
