Emmerdale romance for Ryan Stocks as newcomer arrives in the village

Emmerdale: Ryan speaks to Mack after losing adoptive mum

In official spoilers released by ITV, Emmerdale villager Ryan Stocks (played by James Moore) is gobsmacked when someone from his past arrives in the village.

Ryan is left suspicious when his old flame, Gail (Rachel Gill-Davis) suddenly reappears after four years.

However, it doesn’t take the pair long to get reacquainted and they end up in bed together.

Soon, Ryan and Gail are embarrassed when Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) catches them after they’ve spent the night together.

Does Gail want to get back together with Ryan? Or is there a more sinister reason behind her arrival?

Ryan has been unlucky in love and in recent scenes, he has been there for his mum after her short marriage to Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) ended.

Charity split up with Mack after he confessed he’d had a one-night stand with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).

Their fling had resulted in an unexpected pregnancy, and recently, Mack was exposed as the baby’s father.

Ryan’s romance won’t be the only one that will send shockwaves through the village next week after Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) share a kiss.

The colleagues grow closer after spending time together at a murder mystery convention.

However, as they celebrate Liam’s writing award nomination, the duo get carried away and share a passionate kiss.

Although, they don’t stop there because later in the surgery, Wendy and Liam embrace again and end up sleeping together.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other press about the affair, Susan shared: “She feels terrible about that, she does love Bob, she does.

“She is devastated about that and she basically tells Liam it has to stop, it was a moment of madness.

“It was great fun but she is in a deep, meaningful relationship with Bob and it has to stop but Liam doesn’t want it to stop.”

She continued: “I realised the other day there is more to Wendy and Liam because he knows about her past with the husband and the drug problem and she went to prison for a year.

“It was a while ago when her husband turns up and tries to blackmail her and she tries to do the right thing and goes to Liam and says, ‘I’ve got to hand my notice in’.

“And he tells her, ‘You’re too good of a nurse, you’re not going anywhere, your secret is safe with me’.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
