Fight disaster in violent showdown for Ben in EastEnders

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) is set to be caught up in a violent showdown in EastEnders as he attempts to impress brutish dad Phil (Steve McFadden).

With Boxing Den set to have a grand opening following Phil and Kat’s (Jessie Wallace) investment, things are left in jeopardy when one of the demo boxers is taken ill.

Not wanting to let his dad down, and eager to prove himself to the Mitchell patriarch, Ben offers to take his place.

However, as the fight gets underway, it becomes clear that things aren’t going to go as smoothly as Ben expected.

It seems that he has severely underestimated the ability of his opponent, and ends up getting beaten pretty badly.

Having got himself in over his head, will he be seriously injured in the ring?

Ben has a lot on his plate at the moment, with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), the mother of daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown), having been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

He has been determined to make life as easy as possible for her in the lead up to her final days.

This has included lending her and partner Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) money, despite struggling with his finances himself.

Things are set to get more complicated when he rows with Lola over Lexi’s understanding of her condition in upcoming episodes.

He insists that Lola needs to prioritise their daughter, leading her to realise that Lexi believes her mother will get better.

Will they be able to navigate telling her the truth, or will they leave her believing that everything will be fine?
