First clip of EastEnders' flashback episode sees Mitchells clash in heated dinner scene | The Sun

EASTENDERS has shared its first teaser clip of the whole Mitchell family in an upcoming flashback episode.

EastEnders has given fans a first glimpse of the Walford institutions as they deal with financial havoc in 1979.

The special episode, which was announced last month and will air on September 5, is set to take viewers back to the winter of 1979 as the iconic Walford family struggles with economic turmoil in Britain.

In a tense scene set in a 1970s-style dinning room, Jaime Winstone holds court as family matriarch Peggy Mitchell.

Peggy is surrounded by her sons, the infamous Mitchell brothers Phil and Grant, played by Daniel Delaney and Teddy Jay, while a young Billy Mitchell, who will be portrayed by George Greenland, lurks in the background.

The footage also gives fans of the BBC One soap a teaser of characters from EastEnders history that have never been seen on screen before.
