FORMER I'm A Celeb star James McVey's has issued some very surprising advice to Matt Hancock ahead of the show launch.

The Vamps singer was on Good Morning Britain when he spoke out about the notorious Bushtucker trials.

James advised Matt to take on the gruesome I'm A Celebrity trials head on – even though they include eating kangaroo testicles.

He said: "Best advice, get yourself out there.

"I signed up to them straight away as I wanted to just throw myself in there.

"For me, boredom was a big thing."

James, who was a hit on the show in 2018, added: "So I stayed busy, doing tasks.

"So that's what I'd recommend to anyone – get stuck in there."

The Sun revealed Matt could be exempt from some of the trials on health reasons.

It came as Matt looked set to break an unwanted I'm A Celebrity record following his shock signing.

Bookies Betfair have him at 2/1 to be chosen to do the most  Bushtucker Trials ever.

The record is currently held by music producer Naughty Boy, who fans gleefully watched squeal and sulk his way through seven trials in 2021.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Matt Hancock will be returning as a regular face on our TV screens this year after sensationally joining this year’s I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! cast.

"The former health secretary is 2/1 to surpass Naughty Boy’s record of seven by doing the most bushtucker trials in history, while he is 4/1 to be the first departure from the jungle.

"Since joining I’m a Celeb, Hancock has been suspended as a Tory MP and he is 10/1 to resign from the position before the New Year. He is 16/1 to win the show, with England legend Jill Scott the 3/1 favourite.”
