Gogglebox fans were left cringing on tonight's episode (May 19) after being forced to watch celebrities drinking their own urine.

Viewers joined the slew of professional TV watchers on the sofa to catch up on the week’s biggest TV events, including Eurovision and I Kissed A Boy.

But it was one show in particular that distracted viewers as they began watching part of Channel 4’s The Big Celebrity Detox.

As the show’s biggest names all delved into the show, which sees stars embark on a wellness journey, they were stunned to watch several stars being told to drink their own urine.

As a “wellness guru” demonstrated drinking six month old urine, viewers were left gagging and cringing, alongside the shocked stars of the show, with one even claiming there should be a “trigger warning”

“Drinking your own pi*s needs to come with a trigger warning before #Gogglebox," said one fan.

“Even thinking about yer man drinking his own 6 month old pi*s makes me gip. The smell must be atrocious,” said another.

A third chimed in: “They put any disgusting on tv these days Drinking pi*s is good tv now Gross,” while a fourth penned: “This programme is literally taking the pi*s now.”

Gogglebox was slapped with 88 complaints after what some viewers said was a “vile” comment about the Coronation last week.

The instalment of the Channel 4 show that aired on 12th May saw Scottish cast members Joe Kyle and Roisin Kelly tuning in to watch the historic event.

At one point Kyle turned to Kelly and said that he had been working on his “allegiance”, and asked if she wanted to hear it.

When Kelly said yes, Kyle started to sing: “You can stick your Coronation up your a***, you can stick your Coronation up your a***."

Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has now confirmed it received 88 complaints about the episode.

Many viewers were horrified by the remark and flocked to Twitter to express their outrage.

“Shame on the Glaswegian couple,” tweeted one person.

“Let us Glaswegians down with that vile remark.”

Another said that Kyle had been “disrespectful”.

One viewer commented: “Watching Gogglebox and nearly broke the TV when Roisin and Joe came on!! Get them off!!”
