Good Morning Britain bosses offer Susanna Reid new shows after her fury over on-screen errors | The Sun

SUSANNA Reid has been offered exciting on-screen opportunities by ITV amid "tension" at Good Morning Britain.

The Sun can reveal bosses hoping to secure her long-term future on the show are working closely with Susanna on a number of "phenomenal" programming ideas.

It's helped ease fears Susanna could quit after a string of errors made by off-screen colleagues.

The frustrated 52-year-old complained to bosses, saying the howlers made the presenting team look stupid.

It led to bookies claiming the likelihood of the presenter quitting her ITV job this year has increased following a "rollercoaster week".

But insiders insist she's at the centre of inspiring projects set to air later this year as part of new segments on GMB – but details surrounding the filming are not yet known.

A source close to the show told us: "GMB has some phenomenal programming ideas built around Susanna for later this year, all ones to which she has typically very proactively contributed to and helped build and inspire, so why would she walk away from them?"

The Sun has reached out to Good Morning Britain for comment.

Producers have been trying to rebuild the team since Susanna’s co-host Piers Morgan, 57, left the show in March 2021.

The 52-year-old has been presenting the show with guest co-hosts, including Richard Madeley and Ed Balls.

Among the gaffes that got her blood boiling was the word “remembering” being spelt incorrectly during a particularly sensitive item about a death.

Susanna was also annoyed when she realised the date shown on screen was wrong.

And she lost patience again this week when the name of news correspondent Ben Chapman was misspelt as he reported from the war in Ukraine.

An insider told The Sun: “Susanna is totally professional and just wants high standards — as Piers or any other presenter would have done.

“The last thing anyone wants is her walking away in anger.”

Susanna has won praise for her robust grillings of politicians, including disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock last week.

She recently celebrated record-breaking ratings for the breakfast show.

Susanna said: "Terrific figures for yesterday’s @gmb (and a great week).

"Highest Thursday numbers since June 2021, up 9 per cent and +3.8 share points against the same day last year. We love that you are watching. Back on Monday with @benshephard."
