Gemma broken after giving Joseph bad news in Corrie

Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) has a lot to handle in Coronation Street right now. As well as looking after the quads and Joseph (William Flanagan), Gemma is also trying to make ends meet in the cost of living crisis, and has just been told that her twin, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), has MND.

She’s trying her best to put on a brave face all of the time but in upcoming episodes, that mask drops, and it’s clear Gemma is struggling a lot more than she cares to admit.

First, she’s given a positive distraction in the form of a fundraising event. Gemma and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) put on a chilli eating competition to raise money for Paul’s MND equipment and manage to secure £800.

Back at home, when Chesney (Sam Aston) explains that they can’t afford for him to attend summer club with his mates, Joseph’s gutted.

Gemma leaps up to help, telling him that she’ll ask Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) for some more shifts at the pub.

In the week, as Ches heads off to work, Gemma is left alone to look after the quads and Joseph.

When Rita (Barbara Knox) pops by, Gemma breaks down and admits that she’s utterly exhausted, struggling to deal with Paul’s illness and is starting to feel like she did when she had postnatal depression after the quads were born.

Rita urges Gemma to talk to Doctor Gaddas, but can she get the right help that will make her situation easier to manage?

Or will Gemma continue to find things difficult?
