I was in EastEnders as part of scandalous love triangle – but I quit fame for a totally different job | The Sun

A FORMER EastEnders star has turned her back on fame in favour of a very different career.

Kylie Babbington starred as Jodie Gold in EastEnders from June 2010 until November 2011.

Jodie was introduced as the daughter of feisty Vanessa Gold, played by Footballers' Wives icon Zoe Lucker.

During her time in Walford Jodie had an on/off relationship with Darren Miller [Charlie G Hawkins] and was involved in a love triangle with brothers Anthony and Tyler Moon [Matt Lapinskas and Tony Discipline].

Following Vanessa and Darren's exits, EastEnders confirmed Jodie was to be written out of the soap.

An EastEnders spokesperson at the time said: "Since the departure of her mum and boyfriend Darren, it was felt the character of Jodie had come to a natural end and viewers will see her head off to look for Darren.

"Like Norman, Poppy had always been a supporting character, not a regular, however we may well see her return again in the future."

But after leaving Albert Square Kylie, 35, ditched acting and now works as a comedy writer.

She also set up a comedy duo act with pal Jessica Boshier called Bosh & Babbs.

These days Kylie keeps her life out of the public eye but in 2017 she married tattoo artist Jimi Lynch and shared snaps from their big day on Instagram.
