‘Holly Willoughby should leave This Morning too,’ insists ex-host Eamonn Holmes

This Morning viewers should be bidding goodbye to Holly Willoughby as well as Phillip Schofield, according to Eamonn Holmes.

The Northern Irish broadcaster sat down with GB News on Monday, where the hot topic of Phillip, 61, was at the centre of the conversation – from his exit from This Morning to the public statement revealing he'd had an affair with a much younger member of staff while married.

But Eamonn, 63, didn't just discuss Phil and turned his attention to the presenter's co-host, Holly.

Blasting Holly, 42, he claimed the star doesn't learn the names of production staff and was "distant" from the crew.

He said: "Holly doesn't know people's names. This is legendary within the production teams, that how distant [she and Schofield] are and how they just don't care.

"Not only should Phillip go, but Holly should follow him out the door. I don't think you'll ever see Holly back on the couch again.

"There are people who say for her it's not about what Phillip did, it's not about protecting the young fella involved."

"There are financial experts who would say it's about brand protection with her, her company, and advertising deals which looks like she's distancing herself from to protect herself," he said.

Despite their close bond over the years, Phillip and Holly's friendship is said to have been on the from rocks from early March.

Further along his interview, Eamonn recounted some of Phillip's alleged behaviour with the unnamed man he had an affair with.

"[The lover] would arrive much earlier in the morning than I would for the programme […] he was delivered from Philip's London home. Usually on a Friday morning, because Thursday was playtime when he and Phillip would hit the town and then he obviously stayed overnight," he told Dan, 40.

"There are records to show that he was brought in the next day separately in cars paid for by ITV."

Asked by the GB News host whether he's in contact with Phillip's love interest, Eamonn said that his wife Ruth Langsford is.

"I think life's tough for him," reflected Eamonn. "There’s an incredible duty of care that needs to go towards that young man."

ITV released a statement over the weekend, claiming Phillip previously deceived them during an internal investigation into the alleged affair.

"The relationships we have with those we work with are based on trust. Philip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down," part of it read.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV.
