Man charged with kidnapping for ‘holding a woman captive at gunpoint for FOUR years’ in Houston trailer with bars on the windows has charges DROPPED after neighbors described them as ‘a couple’

  • Abraham Bravo Segura,43, was arrested in March of this year and charged with kidnapping
  • A woman, 32, called deputies from inside a trailer in Houston and said she was being held captive
  • Earlier this month Segura was released from prison after a grand jury failed to find an indictment against him in the case, but he now faces being deported

A Texas man who was charged with kidnapping after allegedly holding a woman inside a trailer at gunpoint has had all charges against him dropped, after neighbors described them as a ‘couple’.

Abraham Bravo Segura, 43, was arrested in March and charged for restraining a woman by ‘secreting and holding’ her in a place where she was ‘not likely to be found,’ according to a criminal complaint.

Earlier this month, Segura was formally released from prison after being a grand jury failed to find any indictment against him.

Segura’s neighbors had previously painted a different story to what Segura had been accused of.

One neighbor previously told KHOU 11: ‘They would go out together. She used to go out on the streets without a shirt, we had to call Abraham multiple times since she would leave topless.’

Abraham Bravo Segura, 43, was arrested in March and charged with felony kidnapping for allegedly keeping a woman in a Houston trailer

Segura, pictured, is now said to be fighting deportation from the United States after he was released from jail

Segura’s friend, Auseilsaul Contreras, told KTRK that his friend was innocent, Fox News reported.

‘I (saw) them together,’ Contreras said. ‘They came to our house sometime when we had parties and everything. They were good. I don’t know what they’re saying.’

He now faces a immigration battle to stay in the U.S. after he was handing over to an immigration center following his release, according to a close friend.

A GoFundMe has now been set up by Contreras, to help with legal fees and to ‘get him back on his feet’.

Contreras said: ‘I’m making this go fund me account to help my friend Abraham Segura. On March 08, 2023 he was falsely accused of a crime he did not commit.

‘This case received so much publicity that it made it to national news. He lost so much financially and emotionally all due to these false allegations.

‘We even had to sell his mobile home to hire an attorney but on May 17 2023 we were able to prove his innocence.

‘The charges were dismissed but unfortunately due to his immigration status, he was sent to an immigration processing center.

‘Where he is now fighting to not get deported. Abraham is a kind, hearted person with good morals that doesn’t deserve to go through this.

Especially since he has always been innocent from these accusations. All donations will be to help Abraham overcome this and help him get back on his feet.’

Segura, pictured here at an earlier court hearing, was released in the middle of May but has since been kept in a immigration center

The 32-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, claimed that Segura had kept her inside the barred trailer

The woman involved in the kidnapping case, whose identity has not been released but is understood to have been his girlfriend, called for help from a phone inside the mobile home while Segura was at work.

She reportedly told Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies that Segura held her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by ABC News, there were burglar bars on the windows, and a padlock that firefighters attempted to open with a bolt cutter but were unable to do so.

The fire department eventually had to use power tools to cut through the bars in order to enter the trailer and rescue the woman.

Three handguns were found inside the trailer, the court documents claim.

At his first court apperance in March, Segura said that the story was ‘one-sided’.

Segura, who works as a barber and tattoo artist, had one prior conviction for misdemeanor marijuana possession in 2006.
