Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian forced to rush both children to hospital

Former Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian has revealed that she has been forced to rush both of her children to hospital within a matter of weeks.

In an Instagram story, he actress and mum of two revealed to her 56.4k followers that eldest daughter Isla had suffered a viral induced asthma attack, just weeks after youngest daughter Isabella was taken in for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

The Becca Dean star shared a sweet photo of actor husband David O’Mahoney cuddling their eldest daughter after the eventful day, which left Ali feeling as though she was ‘on the ceiling’.

Within the post, she thanked staff at Kingston Hospital for their ‘most amazing’ care and explained what had happened during their ‘rollercoaster’ of a day.

‘Having never had asthma before she had a viral induced asthma attack. (Not a huge surprise though with our family history and her history of allergy).

‘It was an utter rollercoaster of a day but finally settled and thankfully able to come home last night.

‘Just need to tell my nervous system now that she is safe and home as I still feeling on the ceiling. She was so, so brave but went through a lot. We need a seriously cuddly day today.

‘Had the littlest in hospital with RSV a few weeks ago. Little people eh?’

Ali has been very open about her life as a mum, and previously detailed the ‘turbulent’ birth of second daughter Isabella.

She explained how her pre-booked caesarean section kept being delayed due to emergencies taking priority, until she was rushed into theatre after going hyperglycemic.

The c-section itself proved difficult, due to the awkward position of Isabella, and things only became more traumatic when Ali had a haemorrhage.

Thankfully, both mum and baby are now healthy.

Ali played the role of Becca Dean on Hollyoaks for six years, before leaving the role in 2007.

She was involved in some hard-hitting and controversial storylines, including one that saw her character having an inappropriate relationship with student Justin Burton (Chris Fountain).
