Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis numb and heartbroken after miscarriage

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has said she is "numb and heartbroken" after revealing she has suffered a devastating miscarriage.

The TV personality and actress was almost three months pregnant with her second child when she suffered the loss.

She was expecting her baby with boyfriend Joe Mckalroy, who would have been the couple's first child together.

The 29-year-old starlet is already a proud mum to son Caben-Albi – whom she shares with her ex Jeremy McConnell.

Stephanie bravely took to social media on Saturday (July 30) to break the news to her followers, where she opened up about the traumatic ordeal.

She wrote: "MISCARRIAGE. I am not pregnant before people don’t read the caption and start congratulating me," she penned in the caption of a carousel of snaps and video clips.

The star began to tell her fans of the ordeal she has been experiencing, noting that she wanted to wait until she was "ready" but doesn't think anybody going through what she is ever will be.

"We found out from so so early on it felt like we were pregnant for sooo long.

"If you remember I came off social media for a while, it was because we had a miscarriage. We thought we were nearly 12 weeks pregnant ( 3 months )."

Explaining how she had "bad bad sickness" from early on and that it felt like they had a long time with their baby.

Stephanie continued: "I started getting really bad headaches one night and the next morning I woke up and I said to Joe and my mum and joes mum that I didn’t feel pregnant anymore.

"They know how I am and thought I was overly worrying and the baby would be fine as on our previous scans the baby’s heartbeat was beating beautifully. But as a mum I guess you just know…"

She expressed how the anxiety, heartbreak and the sadness that they went through was "horrendous".

The actress added: "Me and joe were so excited and already had visioned and planned a life with our family of 4. I was already looking at what I was doing for my baby shower. You think when you get further on like I was that everything will be ok, so it was a big shock.

"When they told us there was no heartbeat and the baby had stopped growing was just so upsetting."

The actress revealed how she had to have an operation to have their baby "removed".

"I couldn’t have got though it all without my absolute rock, Joe. My mum, joes mum jane and Cath were amazing and our family’s and my managements support," she added.

"After the operation I was so numb and empty and my hormones were all over the place.

"It was hard to accept there was nothing there anymore and our journey we were on was over. Joe was my rock and I love you more every day."

She concluded: "We are ok, & we have got through it all as family. One day we will expand our little family when the time is right."

Last year, Stephanie suffered another miscarriage.
