Host Scott Cam ‘set to quit’ hit TV show The Block – and his replacement will be ‘familiar face’ | The Sun
SCOTT CAM is set to quit The Block after 13 years at the helm of the hit renovation series, reports have claimed.
The host, 60, is likely to pack up his tools after the 19th season airs later this year and his replacement would be a familiar face.
Channel 9 has denied the claims after media reports emerged on Monday claiming that producers were “scrambling” to find a way to honour Scott ahead of his apparent shock departure from the show.
"The report is not true," a spokesperson for The Block confirmed.
An insider had said the veteran television presenter was apparently nearing the end of his contract at the Australian network.
"Scotty Cam's contract is up and it is believed he isn't signing for any more after this one," they told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

The source added that Scott will likely be replaced by a former contestant of The Block when he finally steps away.
"Audiences don't like change especially when it comes to replacing the host – so relying on familiar-faced contestants to make up for the absence makes sense," they said.
A third claim included a big reunion special before the 20th season of the show, “featuring the most iconic teams from the past”.
Yahoo! Lifestyle alleged phone calls to these stars had already been made with a highly anticipated line-up available for the special.

“We are looking at the contestants that made the most amount of noise and those who are still remembered all these years later,” the insider added.
Scott– who has hosted The Block since 2010 – has said in the past working on the show is “never a drag” and was thrilled to be kicking off another season this year.
“This series is guaranteed to be a deadset blockbuster,” he said last week.
“Our five new teams from across the country are all fired up to make their home states proud.”
Amid the bombshell claims, Scott is preparing to attend the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday following his nomination for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
The Block has also been nominated for Most Popular Reality TV program and Most Outstanding Reality Program.
This year’s season comes after former contestants and best friends Omar and Oz from Western Sydney made a historical profit of $1,586,666.66 (£836,574.67) when they sold their Macedon Ranges home at auction last year.
Melbourne businessman and multi-millionaire Adrian Portelli purchased the home, with the pair winning about $800,000 (£421,000) in prize money each.
