I thought Id be the first out of Im A Celeb because nobody knew who I was, says Owen Warner

I'm a Celeb runner up Owen Warner revealed he thought he'd be the first one to be voted out of the jungle as he thought no one knew who he was.

Owen, 23, met with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on This Morning on Tuesday, 13 December, where he revealed he was surprised he'd made it that far as he did not expect it since he didn't think he was enough well-known.

"I went in there to meet Ant and Dec really," Owen revealed.

Owen said he'd accepted the time the challenge since he grew up watching the show.

"As a kid I watched the show and I loved it," he said.

He went on to say he accepted the challenge as a way of "ticking that off the bucket list and doing a trial" that he had seen as a child.

Owen said: "I thought I'd be one of the first out cause no one really knows who I am."

"We do now," presenter Dermot said.

In the interview, Owen also revealed that he filmed surprise scenes for Hollyoaks while in Australia after finishing I'm A Celeb.

Owen has been portraying Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap since 2018 and has been involved in serious storylines involving murder, the salon’s explosion and hosting illegal raves.

Owen said: “After you leave the jungle, your head is scrambled. Your head is all fuzzy. You don't know what's going on, you're carted here and there. Real life was too much, I was not ready for it.

"I got taken downstairs and they gave me a script and they were like, right learn this. I was there doing a FaceTime and it took me some time to learn it and I was like what is going on, I'm losing it."

Owen was one of the constants that joined the jungle for I'm A Celeb back in the beginning of November this year.

Reality TV fans fell in love with Owen during this year’s competition, and whether it was his passion for food, or his rather sexy shower scene, fans were pleased that he made it to the final two alongside Lioness Jill Scott.

He quickly fond a bond with ex-rugby player Mike Tindall, as viewers found him adorable when he asked Mike about the royal family, including when he asked if his royal wife Zara was Australian.
