I was on Dancing on Ice – here's why Ekin-Su was voted off, says show winner Jake Quickenden | The Sun

DANCING On Ice winner Jake Quickenden has revealed why Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was voted off the show.

The star – who took part in the programme in 2018 alongside Vanessa Bauer – explained the Love Island contestant didn't pay enough "attention" to her skating.

Jake, 34, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2012, was supporting Ekin-Su, 28, in her Dancing On Ice appearance.

However, he has now "revealed" why the star was voted off the show last night after he made it all the way to the final.

Writing in his OK! magazine column, Jake explained that he felt Ekin-Su wasn't paying enough attention to her "skating">

"Ekin-Su seemed to be getting more confident every week so I'm sad to see her leave if I'm honest," he penned.

"Love Island's demographic is much younger than Dancing On Ice's and I think that might have played a part as to why she went home.

"I don't think she was the weakest skater, but maybe people didn't get behind her, which is surprising because she's got such a great personality.

"What I think did kind of go against her is that she kept changing her style."

Ekin-Su was slammed by viewers at home after performing to a Britney Spears hit in a tight-fitting nude body sock.

The following week, she appeared as The Sound Of Music star Julie Andrews in a long dress and wig as she covered up.

"I just think viewers maybe thought, 'we don't really know what's going on with her' and it distracted from her growth," Jake added.

But as for the main reason she went home, the skating competition winner said that she had been "concentrating" on the wrong things.

"I think she was kind of concentrating on pleasing the viewer too much with what she wears rather than just concentrating on the skating," he concluded.

It comes after Ekin made DOI history when her Love Island beau Davide Sanclimenti joined her on the ice.

The reality star was surrounded by a bevy of topless skaters in a sizzling routine that ended with her snogging Davide, 28.

Ekin-Su and skater Brendyn Hatfield brought disco to the rink with a skate to Car Wash by Dance X Winners.

The judges were ultimately unimpressed with Ekin-Su's performance, giving her 23/40 – before she left the show.
