Im A Celebritys Fatima Whitbread misses final after falling asleep in trial

Fatima takes part in I'm A Celeb South Africa trial

Fatima Whitbread, Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo were tasked by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly with wearing a helmet full of critters for six minutes, but they had to time themselves by counting.

Jordan was the first to stop his trial but due to Myleene and Fatima taking so much longer, he was convinced he’d ended it too early.

There was a lot riding on the trial as the two with the closest time to six minutes would make the all-important final.

Fatima left fans in hysterics as she failed to press the buzzer to end her challenge until 15 minutes had passed.

Bemused fans noticed she only pressed the buzzer after the main alarm had sounded for the trial to end.

Some ITV viewers believe the sportswoman must have “fallen asleep” during the challenge.

At the end of the trial, Geordie duo Ant and Dec revealed how long each contestant had taken.

It turned out Jordan was the closest to the goal with a time of six minutes and 34 seconds, with Myleene way over at 11 minutes and 28 seconds.

However, with Fatima waiting until the alarm sounded, she didn’t ring the buzzer until 15 minutes and 10 seconds had passed.

Many baffled fans took to social media to ask whether Fatima may have had a snooze during the trial.

@TJScaverton joked: “Never ask Fatima what the time is #ImACeleb.”

Summarising her experience, Fatima stated: “It was unbelievably hard in lots of different ways compared to the previous one.

“You couldn’t call it at all as there was various different trials and challenges.

“It was so different as you were up against each other at times, we had to do a secret ballot, there’s no public vote.”

She continued: “It was tough. We all got on very well, you build alliances and then go head to head,” before concluding: “Don’t get me wrong, I loved every minute of it.”
