Im A Celebs Shaun and Gillian to form a ‘strong alliance’ following ‘immense dislike’

A top body language expert has come forward with his surprising and unexpected theories on how the I'm A Celebrity campmates are coping, based on their behaviours, after day two in camp.

Darren Stanton lifted the lid on why he believes Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith could "form a strong allianc"’, how Helen Flanagan is continuing to play the "damsel in distress card", plus his thoughts on Jordan's Banjo's 'nerves' in camp.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darren believes that Shaun and Gillian have made waves and actually, after finding "common ground" and a connection on day two, there could be a genuine friendship and support on the horizon despite their rocky past.

Darren said: “Shaun showed immense dislike to Gillian as she walked into the camp. Obviously there’s bad blood between each other, however they did seem to find a common ground last night.

"Initially it seemed like he was trying to influence the other campmates when it came to Gillian, but eventually they found this rapport and connection. He seems a lot more accepting of her this time around. Ironically, these two could go on to form a strong alliance."

He admitted though that they are "quite an odd pairing and not in the slightest way similar", but that there was "certainly a switch between them."

Interestingly, the friendly-vibes of new camp are starting to wean already.

“The niceness and pleasantness is beginning to wear off within the camp now. We saw Fatima pulling a few faces at Shaun over his snoring. She eventually went over to him and told him to stop. I predict there will be friction between them," Darren added.

It appears, though, that Shaun and Gillian aren’t the only ones bonding in camp, as Darren reveals Phil Tufnell and Amir Khan are a "good double act".

According to Darren: “There were a good few moments between Amir and Phil during last night’s show. I think those two will potentially be a good double act."

He continued: "They interact with each other, they’re both supportive and both 'placaters', which means they shy away from conflict. Even though Amir is a boxer, he doesn’t like confrontation and has a good sense of humour. We’re already starting to see the emergence of alliances between different campmates."

In Darren's eyes though, there's one campmate who is finding things particularly harder than most.

“Jordan appears to be struggling the most," he explained.

"He showed a lot of pacifying gestures during last night’s show, which are self reassurance gestures. He doesn’t seem completely sure of who to talk to or what to do with himself. It appears that he finds it difficult to engage with the bigger characters and strong personalities. I definitely saw him display some signals of nerves and uneasiness in the camp.”

The body language expert also believes there's a very good actress in camp, in the form of former Coronation Street star, Helen Flanagan.

“She comes over like she’s struggling, but I believe that’s her way of diverting people’s attention," Darren said.

Adding she's "still playing the damsel in distress card", but that she definitely has some hidden depths to her.

"She could potentially be a candidate that really surprises everyone and makes it through to the final days. Over the course of the next few episodes, I think we will see the emergence of who Helen truly is – a strong woman who could go all the way to the end."

This will no doubt by music to Helen's ears. The actress has admitted to going through this again to show her children, particularly her eldest, Matilda, what she's all about.

There's always a camp villain and this series is no different.

Darren warned: “I think Janice has emerged as a dominant matriarch within the group.

"She’s already calling the shots in a lot of ways and started to hold court within the camp and make herself known. After being chosen to do the trial, Janice flashed massive contempt and anger. It’s clear she doesn’t like not getting her own way.”
