I'm on Gogglebox but can't give up my job as a roofer – I need to pay my mortgage, says Pete Sandiford | The Sun

GOGGLEBOX favourite Pete Sandiford inisists he can't afford to give up his job as a roofer, despite his TV fame.

The dad-of-one, from Blackpool, has been making telly fans laugh alongside his sister Sophie for five years.

Even though they're now household names, the Channel 4 programme's rate of £1,500-a-month isn't enough to live off.

Speaking to The Sun at the Tric Awards, Pete, 27, said: "We just saw Eammon Holmes. I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday."

When asked if he'd consider giving up his job, he said: "I have got to pay my mortgage somehow."

And he's not interested in trying his hand at another reality show, saying: "No, nothing beats sitting on the sofa."
