The Voice star Gwen Stefani has come under fire from some fans who have accused her of having on “too much makeup” in a new social media video. A handful of followers branded her “unrecognisable” as she appeared in a clip to promote a new cosmetics brand on Instagram.
She stopped hosting the NBC singing series last year, but Gwen clearly hasn’t put a pause on her career on social media.
Sharing another collaboration with her loyal 15.6million followers, she showed off her fuller pout as she demonstrated a particular product.
Pairing short clips to Meghan Trainor’s hit Mother, the Rich Girl hitmaker posed up a storm as she stitched several snaps into the video.
“A primer-infused cream-to-powder eyeshadow for buildable, crease-proof color,” she wrote in the post’s caption.
She added: “24-hour wear ?? yes pls 🙂 shop the new paint it up by @gxvebeauty at @sephora !!”
Fans flocked to the post’s comment section to air their thoughts on the short clip, with some not happy with the final look.
User @strmm1839 commented on the short video: “Gwenny, what are doing..your face is perfect quit putting stuff on it.”
While @lover_ryoko added: “What did you have done? You don’t look like you anymore.”
Instagram user @terri_leigh24 said: “Way too much make-up…Always.”
Although not everyone thought the same, with @tammie_harajuku5 saying: “Literally love all of them! They’re perfection”
Account @thatskatvintage added: “I think you look gorgeous!”
While @romichaseforever explained: “Looks amazing, I might grab one.”

Gwen was an on-off coach for The Voice, first appearing in season seven before filming nine, 12, 17 and 19 before leaving during season 20.
She was replaced by Nick Jonas – who actually first appeared back in season 18.
It wasn’t until season 22 that she returned to her seat, alongside her husband Blake Shelton, John Legen and Camila Cabello.
She met Blake while shooting season seven and the pair eventually tied the knot during the summer, right before season 21 began.
Blake has since announced he is leaving The Voice after season 23. He confirmed the news in October last year via an Instagram post.
The musician wrote: “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season.
“It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew, and catering people, you are the best.”
The Voice US continues Mondays on NBC in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
