Jay declares his love to Lola in EastEnders but a devastating tragedy follows

Since Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Honey (Emma Barton) split up on EastEnders, it’s seemed inevitable that it wouldn’t be long before he and Lola (Danielle Harold) got back together again.

It looks like the moment is at hand when Jay declares his love in upcoming episodes – but could it be too late?

Lola plans a surprise birthday party for Jay at Peggy’s and convinces Ben (Max Bowden) and Callum (Tony Clay) to help her organise it, as part of her plan to get those two back together.

Jay turns up and tells Ben and Callum he doesn’t want to celebrate this year, but an undaunted Lola goes ahead with her plans. Ben and Callum debate whether to tell her, but decide not to.

Lola awaits everyone arriving at Peggy’s, not realising that Alfie (Shane Richie) has told people that the venue has been changed to the Queen Vic because he’s trying to drum up trade for the pub.

Eventually Jay goes to Peggy’s and Lola tries to get him to enjoy himself. The two then share a special moment as Jay mentions that Lola was the love of his life.

This admission could signal a new era of happiness for the couple, but we know it’s likely to be short-lived as Danielle Harold is due to be leaving EastEnders soon – and in the very same episode Lola is caught in a terrifying situation when Jonah’s thugs force her to open the safe at Peggy’s.

Lola struggles and breaks away, running back into the party, as the evening descends into chaos and someone ends up seriously injured.

Could it be the end for Lola?
