POP Group star John Waddington has died aged 63 with tributes pouring in for the "unforgettable" guitarist.
Iconic musician John contributed to some of the band’s most iconic recordings over the years.
The sad news was revealed on social media by the band's official Twitter account.
In its statement, the Pop Group praised Waddington “an influential musician, and an integral member of the group.”
The statement continued: “His energy and friendship will be sorely missed, and his unforgettable musicianship will always be remembered.”
Waddington's cause of death has not been given.

John Waddington was just 17-years-old when he started his first band, serving as vocalist, guitarist, and principal songwriter for the punk group The Boyfriends.
But the band was short-lived and he soon joined The Pop Group.
The iconic band was formed in the English city of Bristol in 1977, and released their landmark debut, Y, the same year.
John played on ‘Y’ and ‘For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder?’, the first two albums by The Pop Group.

He later joined Maximum Joy for their debut album ‘Station MXJY’.
John continued to make memorable appearances on records by Judy Nylon and by On-U Sound affiliated projects including New Age Steppers and African Head Charge.
His last performance credit was on Lily Allen's 2006 album Alright, Still.
It comes after his band mate Mark Stewart recently died aged 62 in April.
Stewart was born in Bristol in 1960 and formed the band in 1977 with pals John Waddington and Simon Underwood.
Gareth Sager and Bruce Smith joined the group later to complete the lineup.
