Katie Price devastated after losing her beloved pet chihuahua on holiday in billionaire’s paradise | The Sun

KATE Price was left "in bits" after losing her pet chihuahua while on a swanky holiday, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

The mum of five, 44, had taken much-loved pooch Captain with her as she visited Sandbanks for a stay-cation with fiance Carl Woods.

The getaway marked Katie's 11th holiday of the year – yet things quickly turned sour when the former glamour model discovered the animal was missing.

A source told us: "Katie was in bits. She thought Captain would be fine off his lead as they were staying on a friend's private property which was very secure but he managed to run off.

"They couldn't find him anywhere and everyone was looking.

"Katie was devastated thinking she has lost him for good, or that he might get run over."

After eight agonising hours, Katie got a call that Captain had been found safe and well.

The source added: "A stranger found Captain running around and as they couldn't see an owner anywhere, they took him to a local vets.

"The vet then ID'd him using his digital tagging microchip, which was registered to the breeder.

"The breeder than contacted Katie, who was thrilled and so relieved to be reunited with Captain."

Captain is no stranger to accompanying Katie on holidays, and was recently seen being transported in a pet carrier while on a train.

The reunion must have come as a huge relief to Katie who recently boasted how she owned five pooches – despite fans launching a petition against her pet ownership.

The star has not had the best of luck with her furry friends.

The petition against Katie owning animals came after her dog Rolo was found dead by her son Harvey’s carer after getting stuck under a chair.

Rolo's tragic accident happened five months after another of the family's dogs, Alsatian Sparkle, was killed running into a busy road.

Another dog, Queenie, died in tragic circumstances in 2018, when she was struck by a delivery driver.

In 2017, one of her horses escaped her West Sussex property and was killed when a car hit it on the A24.

Animal rights group PETA has also said Katie should be stopped from owning any more pets.

Shortly after the death of the French bulldog the petition was launched by a concerned animal lover.

The petition to stop Katie from owning animals has now reached a huge 24,000 signatures.

Katie owns two big security dogs Blake and Okra, as well as Captain, who she brought home in May.

The star is often seen posing with Captain and her two tiny black chihuahua puppies.
