Loose Women stars have opened up about their WhatsApp group.

The former Health Secretary tried to bypass Education Secretary Gavin Williamson to have schools closed in December 2020, messages published by the Daily Telegraph suggest.

Conversation turned to the Loose Women WhatsApp group and it was revealed that Janet Street-Porter had previously left the group.

After explaining she's not a fan of being part of the group, Carol said: "I remember when Janet left and Denise [Welch] was horrified."

Brenda added: "But you'll be thinking there's things going on that I don't know about."

Carol agreed: "Yeah, maybe i'm guilty of spying."

Kaye pointed out: "Has Carol got another WhatsApp group behind it. Normally with a big WhatsApp group, there's splinter groups.

Carol confessed: "I'm not in any splinter groups."

Nadia asked: "Why don't you just leave?"

"I message people personally," Carol insisted. "I just don't like the whole group thing. There's no need for it."

Carol then got her phone out and left the group live on air.

Debating whether or not to post a parting message, Carol simply just wrote: "Bye."

Christine Lampard, who was watching at home, replied to the message saying: "I'm watching right now."

Kaye also joked that Matt Hancock was "typing and was leaving as well".

Elsehwere in the show, Carol was forced to address her "seriously red face".

Appearing make-up free on the show, the TV star said: "It looks like I've had a cosmetic procedure of something but I haven't.

"I' woke up with a seriously red face, itchy, so I've got no make-up on."

Kaye said: "It's gone better from this morning though. You had a antihistamine didn't you?"

Carol replied: "Yeah, which. made me feel weird. It's not pleasant and i'm fine not to have any makeup on."

Kaye said: Joking aside it's a horrible thing and we're really glad you're here. We'd rather you here then not here. Hopefully the wee tables will work and you'll be fine and dandy."
