Loose Women's Nadia Sawalha asked her husband if he would have a vasectomy live on air, which started a "row" between the couple.

After debating whether or not women should request their male partners to get a vasectomy to prevent future pregnancies, Nadia detailed the struggles she had been through as a woman.

She went on to state that she would expect her husband – Mark Adderley – to get a vasectomy should she request it.

Live on air she announced that she had asked him if he would via text to see what his response would be.

Looking at her phone before the first ad break, Nadia looked incredibly shocked when she simply said: "Oh."

She then went on to reveal that his text simply said: "No."

Adding that he continued: "Because I would never ask you to have a hysterectomy."

In his text he also asked her: "How comes I'm suddenly in trouble? I would never ask you to get sterilised."

She then admitted: "I've just started a row now."

This came as Nadia, Kaye Adams, Frankie Bridge and Linda Robson all discussed asking your partner to "get a vasectomy for Christmas".

The panel was divided as the four women discussed the topic, with Frankie having the opposite opinion to Nadia.

Frankie explained how she wouldn't ask her husband to get a vasectomy because she wouldn't expect her to get a hysterectomy.

Viewers watching at home were quick to take to Twitter to discuss the topic.

One person penned: "Man's body. Man's choice. Women can't preach about women having "their body, their choice" and then control a man's. Honestly these #LooseWomen spout some rubbish."

While a second said: "Can't believe they are discussing whether they would 'tell' their partner to have one. Imagine men were saying this."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVHub.
