Love Island fans fuming as two stars dumped from the island and one couple is finished

Love Island has dumped two more stars from the island in a shocking dumping tonight, Friday 16 June, as André Furtado and Charlotte Sumner were sent home.

The announcement was made after a week of drama and rows between the rest of the islanders, including the most recent confrontation between Mitchel Taylor, 26, and Sammy Root, 22 over the former's handling of his decision to make a move on Jess Harding, also 22.

But while the decision was a direct result of the public's vote on their favourite islanders this week, fans were still gutted.

Charlotte, 30, barely had a chance in the villa after choosing to couple up with Zachariah Noble, 27, despite the London basketball player having his eyes firmly set on blonde stunner Molly Marsh, 21.

And while André had an initially rocky ride having been coupled up with 22 year old Catherine Agbaje in the beginning before moving on to Ruchee Gurung, he ended his journey back with Dublin native, Catherine.

In recent days, André had become increasingly quiet and seemed to fade into the background in the villa, which possibly prompted his unfortunate place at bottom of the public's favourites.

But sadly, this means that fan-favourite Catherine's coupling has been inadvertently destroyed, just as the pair were starting to get closer over the last few days.

The dramatic vote was revealed with an ominous text ordering the islanders to gather around the fire pit. One by one, the group learned which three boys and three girls had been left vulnerable in the vote.

The Islanders then had to choose which boy and which girl to dump from the island, with the girls choosing to say goodbye to Andre and the boys choosing to say farewell to Charlotte. Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on tonight's dramatic dumping. One fan said: "They give the 30 year old zeroooo screen time".

As the Islanders deliberated, one viewer said: "Charlotte is an easy decision but out of the boys will be difficult", while another said: "THE 30 YEAR OLD IS OBV GOING HOME COS SHE’S TOO OLD FOR THIS SHOW".

After the reality stars made their decision, one viewer commented: "The producers barely gave us Andre this ain’t fair on him", and another said: "Everyone pretending like they didn’t know".

One fan was relieved to see their favourite safe and said: "The way I just let out the biggest sigh of relief. Catherine so be safe though", but another was disappointed by the process: "But honestly they’ve let the islanders choose twice now? What’s the point of voting?"

Another said: "i actually think andre got done so dirty 🙁 he didn’t even get any screen time", and one frustrated fan quipped: "STEWPID episode", while another added: "makes absolutely no sense".

Ahead of the dumping, things were starting to heat up for London girl Jess, who was also picked to go on a date with new bombshell Scott Van Der Sluis.

The 22 year old Connah's Quay footballer was excited to get to know the bubbly blonde and they giggled away through drinks and dinner outside of the villa.

But while the duo seemed to have a whale of a time on their date, Jess was quick to quiz Sammy for "talking to Leah all night" upon her return. “Not all night, stop it," Sammy teased, as Jess decided to open up on her feelings.

“I’ve been open and honest with you. I still am open, [but] it’s made me realise a little bit…” the star said, as Sammy jumped in for her.

“That you fancy me more than you thought..?” he smiled, and Jess agreed that was "genuinely" how she feels. Despite the pair's growing connection over the last few days, Sammy still isn't ready to close things off either.

“I chatted to Leah for quite a while," he went on. "She’s got decent chat, she’s a very pretty girl, but I did keep thinking about you.”

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
