Love Island fans say same thing about Anna-May Robey’s name after villa debut

Love Island fans are confused and amused by sexy new singleton Anna-May Robey's real name pronunciation.

Anna-May Robey is a 20-year-old payroll administrator from Swansea who has made a name for herself after heading into the South African villa earlier this week.

Ahead of her entry into the lavish abode and around the time that Anna-May was announced as a 2023 Islander, fans of the show were quick to spot something.

Taking to the stunning brunette's social media, fans couldn't help but discuss the young professional's name and the pronunciation of it.

Anna-May sounds just like anime – you know, the hand-drawn and computer-generated animation originating from Japan.

Taking to the comments section on Anna-May's Instagram page, one fan commented: "I can’t tell you how much I’m dying about her name being anime".

"Look that's Anime," joked another.

"Anna-May as in anime," penned someone else, while another said: "Yasss Anime, I mean Anna-May! I'm rooting for you sis."

Former Dancing On Ice star Jake Quickenden also joked: "Anime she gonna be bringing that dragon ball z vibe".

This comes as Anna-May spoke of her dream date ahead of her villa stint.

When asked what she'd like to do with a potential love interest on a first date, Anna-May said: "I would take him to Alcatraz, I love stuff like that."

She added: "I'd take him to San Francisco and to the world's most famous jail. I think it would be quite interesting, it would give us something to talk about."

Alcatraz is known as the United States Penitentiary which was a maximum security federal prison on Alcatraz Island.
