Love Island star Kem Cetinay in 'head-on crash' with his Mercedes G Wagon that killed young dad, 28, inquest hears | The Sun

A BIKER was killed in a "head-on" smash with a Love Island star's Mercedes G Wagon, an inquest has heard this morning.

Kem Cetinay was driving near Hornchurch in East London when Tommy Griggs, 28, smashed into his £123,000 4×4.

Tommy, a young father, was hurled 20ft into the air by the force of the impact before landing on the tarmac.

He died at the scene after suffering multiple injuries and blunt force trauma.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at East London Coroner's Court this morning.

Senior coroner Graeme Irvine said the court had not been given details of the driver of the other vehicle.

A suspect had been identified in the Met Police's investigation into the incident, he said.

"It would appear a suspect has been identified by police in relation to this investigation," he said.

"It appears to me that that person should be listed as an interested person in this inquest."

Kem escaped unhurt but was “deeply shaken” after the accident, which happened just yards from his restaurant Array in Harold Wood.

His agent has previously said he's being treated as a witness, and he was not arrested.

Tommy reportedly collided with Kem’s car after trying to overtake cars going up a hill while the star was driving down.

Eyewitnesses say Kem was “definitely not to blame” for the tragedy.

One witness told The Sun: “I feel for him.  He watched someone die in front of his eyes.

“We all recognised him. He was talking to someone on the phone saying that there had been a smash and that he was worried.

“He was completely in shock.”

And heartbreaking tributes were paid to dad Tommy.

One friend, Phil MG Smith, posted a tribute on Facebook along with photos of flowers at the crash site and a video of a balloon floating into the air.

In the caption he wrote: "This is for u my brother from another, we all miss you Tom, it don't even feel real.

"One love my bro and rest easy."

The mother of Tommy's child shared another heartbreaking post remembering her baby girl's dad.

Amba Davies posted photos of the little family on Facebook. She wrote: "The last four years haven't been the easiest but you gave me the best gift anyone could ever have given me.

"She loves you so much Tommy and I'm going to tell her about you every single day and I'll make sure she makes you so proud!"

KEM'S HORROR

Kem, who won Love Island in 2017 with Amber Davies, did not attend the opening of the inquest this morning.

The reality star, who is worth £4.3million and is signed as Primark’s first-ever menswear ambassador, lives close to the scene in a £1.5m Essex property.

Pals say he is "devastated" by Tommy's death.

A rep for Kem said: "Kem has been assisting the police and is being treated purely as a witness to the incident.
