Viewers will be able to see a fresh wave of singles try to find love in the intense environment of the Love Island villa as the show returns to screens on June 5.

The start date was confirmed with a picture of stunning Maya Jama posing in a pink fitted minidress with the caption: "It's a date. Love Island returns Monday 5th June."

Immediately fans rushed to share their excitement as comments flooded in on the snap.

ITV have confirmed that Maya will also return as the host for Aftersun while Sam Thompson and Indiyah Polak will take over Love Island: The Morning After podcast.

It'll be back less than three months on from the series finale in March – making it the first time that Love Island has taken place twice in one year.

Bosses planned for it to originally have two running's in 2020, but after the Covid-19 pandemic hit across the globe, the summer series was axed, so only the winter series aired that year.

In 2023, the second ever winter series took place in January with an eight-week series.

Ending in March, the show is now back with the shortest break it's ever had as new contestants head to Majorca in a bid to find love.

Maya Jama will be returning to host the show after being named as the new presenter for Love Island ahead of the winter series.

After the series this winter, it was reported that show bosses were incredibly impressed with Maya, which resulted in another sign off for Winter Love Island.

A source told The Sun: "Maya has more than proved her worth as presenter of Love Island and while the ratings for the winter series weren't the best – she came out on top.

"Love Island have already informed the owners of the £1.2million villa in south Africa that they want to return there at the end of this year ahead of the winter 2024 show."

They said at the time that Maya is likely to "only increase its popularity" which they expect to carry on to the next winter edition.

The new contestants for the summer series are yet to be announced – but with the show only days away, the new singletons will be announced imminently.

Love Island returns on Monday 5th June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
