After The Walking Dead series finale teased Rick Grime’s (played by Andrew Lincoln) survival, fans have been eagerly awaiting Rick and Michonne Hawthorne’s (Danai Gurira) untitled spin-off. With production in full swing, fans were sent into a frenzy after actress Lesley Ann Brandt shared a glimpse into the sequel.

Following the series finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead in November, viewers have been itching for the release of its three upcoming spin-offs.

This includes the long-awaited reunion between Rick and Michonne, who were separated in season nine of the post-apocalyptic drama.

Thankfully for fans, production is in full swing, with the addition of new cast members including Lucifer’s Maze star Lesley Ann Brandt.

Although bosses have remained tight-lipped about her character’s storyline, Deadline has confirmed that she will star as Pearl Thorne.

On Monday, the actress treated her followers to a first glimpse at Pearl with a photo of the character on Instagram.

Although the dishevelled-looking Pearl is a survivor of the zombie apocalypse, it’s yet to be seen if she too will become infected.

Lesley also shared a photo of her director’s chair, labelled Thorne.

Viewers will undoubtedly be in for some major action as the background looked destroyed, with a heap of smashed bricks and debris to one side.

As millions await more details about the upcoming sequel, bosses provided insight with the release of a synopsis.

It read: “The series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living.

“Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors?

“Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”
