Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is a man on edge in tonight’s (May 11) Emmerdale as he gets closer and closer to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) learning that Reuben is his son.
In recent episodes of the ITV soap, Mackenzie learnt that his son was in hospital with meningitis.
He secretly headed over to see him, but a mistake during a conversation with a nurse saw Mackenzie tell her that he’s a family friend – not the father – which meant he couldn’t see the baby.
In this new video, Nate (Jurell Carter) – who knows about the betrayal – isn’t happy.
Working on the farm, Mack is confronted by Nate, who’s annoyed at his mate for lying to Charity again.
Mackenzie fails to listen, commenting on the fact Nate once cheated on Tracy (Amy Walsh), so can hardly be in a position to offer any helpful advice.
Ultimately, the clip offers the chance for Mack to admit that he really doesn’t know what to do next. He is desperately attempting to do the right thing all of the time, but with Nate getting annoyed and Charity getting suspicious, it’s only a matter of time until Mack is forced to drop his façade and deal with the truth.
But will this couple rebuild their relationship after the secret reveal?
That remains to be seen, but Emma Atkins was quick to defend Mackenzie, who has made an effort to try and do the right thing in recent weeks.
‘Mackenzie isn’t a rat-bag!’ insisted Emma.
‘He’s fully invested in Charity and he’s gone and made this terrible blunder and obviously wants to do right where Chloe’s concerned. I kind of feel for him. I do.’
