Masked Dancer fans convinced show legend has RETURNED as half of Pillar and Post | The Sun

THE Masked Dancer is packed with mystery but few as intriguing as who the double-act are behind Pillar and Post.

The dancing duo are the show's first ever pair and many think one of the former stars of the series has returned.

The duo, who are a red postbox with eyes and a big pile of mail, appeared for the first time on Saturday.

Countless viewers tweeted their insistence that Dancing On Ice skating legends Torvill and Dean are behind the characters.

One tweeted: "Definitely Torvill and Dean 👀 the toes clue points to skates."

Another Masked Dancer viewer wrote: "Calling it now: Pillar and Post are Torvill & Dean."

A third announced confidently: "pillar and post definitely Torvill & Dean ⛸."

However, there is a little bit of a problem with that – because Christopher Dean has already appeared on the show.

He was unmasked as Beagle in June last year – performing Fly Me To The Moon, one of the routines he did with Jayne on Dancing on Ice.

One fan insisted: "Pillar and post can’t be torvill and dean as dean was on last years show as the dog."

The Masked Dancer was due to return on Saturday night but may not because of shifting schedules after the death of the Queen on Thursday.

Other stars performing on the ITV show's debut episode included Prawn Cocktail, Odd Socks and Astronaut, who turned out to be Jesse Metcalfe.

The Masked Dancer is a spin-off of the enormously successful Masked Singer, which has been a big hit for ITV in recent years.
