Matt Hancock arrived in the jungle and wasted no time in taking part in his first Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! The former health secretary took part in The Beastly Burrows alongside comedian Seann Walsh. The campmates joined forces to bring home stars to the camp.

In tonight’s I’m A Celebrity episode, viewers will be treated to the highly anticipated first look of the suspended Conservative MP taking part in a trial.

The MP for West Suffolk was forced into the challenge with comedian Seann.

A sneak peak of the two sees them navigating through a dingy, dark tunnel, in their quest to feed their fellow campmates.

They were afforded a helmet with a torch and tried to work together to make their way through the sludge.

As is tradition with I’m A Celebrity, there are mucky obstacles and various creatures joining them in the confined space.

During the trial, an unidentified slushy substance drops on the MP, much to the amusement of presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.

Hancock cried: “Ah! Thats a load of slurry poured right over my head,” before complaining: “I can’t find any stars.”

In the preview of their efforts, Seann crawled directly behind Hancock and had his hands on his foot in what must have been a surreal moment for the star.

The pair tried to work together, but they soon clashed as the strain of the challenge took its toll.

Hancock asked Seann in the pitch black tunnel: “Which way shall we go?” to which the former Strictly Come Dancing star guffawed.

He joked: “Which way do I want you to go? I don’t know I am not a bl**dy sat nav!”

As various cockroaches landed on the pair, the former cabinet minister screamed as he hurriedly tried to gather some stars from the muck.

The Tory MP’s entrance has been met with criticism from all quarters of the media and society.

His introductory video offered some insight into what he was expecting from the reality series.

During the video he was seen amending his jungle attire and he announced: “This experience will be an adventure.

“When I am in camp people will see the real me. Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world that I work in.

“People will see me, warts and all, see the human side of the guy behind the podium.”
