Max Turner's new love interest sparks interest in Coronation Street | The Sun

TROUBLED teen Max Turner was released from the STC and met his pal Gav's former girlfriend Bec in the cobbles.

The pair spend time together next week in Coronation Street and Max is soon questioned about their connection.

Regular ITV viewers will remember that Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) received a six-month sentence for his involvement in Alya Nazir's stabbing.

The lad had made videos for Griff Reynolds' far-right gang which were enough to push another teen named Blake to commit a racially-motivated attack on Alya.

The Speed Daal co-owner was stabbed as while saving local politician Maria Connor from a fatal wound.

Since then, Max has tried to process the fact he had been groomed by Griff when he was at his most vulnerable.

And while he was reluctant to return home, Max was recently released from the STC.

Prior to his release, Max was approached by his cellmate Gav who asked him to track down a girl he had dated named Bec.

Max was then shown meeting up with Bec in Roy Cropper's café and the pair connect again in upcoming scenes.

But first, Max calls Gav and confirms that he was successful in finding Bec for him.

Will Max talk to Bec for Gav?

While this remains to be seen, Max is later questioned by his father David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) about his new girlfriend but he remains cagey.

Could Max and Bec form a couple?

Earlier this year, Corrie boss Iain Macleod revealed romance was definitely on the cards for Max.

"It felt important that we showed a story where someone that has gone that far down the wrong path, there is the chance to pull them back."

"And the story at its heart was supposed to be about a family dealing with how you communicate with a teenager that's gone this far off-track, and how do you bring them back into the fold and how do you redeem them?"

Iain had dropped very small and subtle hints about Max's "unlikely love interest" and teased it will turn everything around over the next year.

"So there's a happy ending, it involves a love story."

"He meets this incredibly unlikely love interest and it's really funny… at the risk of making it sound like a tonal collision, we go from that really serious story we've told and it's evolved into a romcom almost over the course of the next 12 months."
