The ‘Savage’ hitmaker made a cameo appearance in the Thursday, September 1 episode of Tatiana Maslany-starring Marvel/Disney+ series, where she’s seen flaunting her twerking skills.
AceShowbiz –Megan Thee Stallion has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The “Savage” hitmaker made a cameo appearance in the Thursday, September 1 episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law“, where she was flaunting her twerking skills.
In the episode, Tatiana Maslany‘s Jennifer Walters could be seen taking on a case in which her former legal nemesis, Drew Matthews‘ Dennis, sued an Asgardian shapeshifter for fraud. She tricked him into dating her by transforming into the hip-hop star.
After the superhero won the case by noting that Dennis would be delusional enough to think he could date the Grammy winner, the real Megan Thee Stallion surprisingly appeared in the courtroom. “That’s right, there’s only one Megan Thee Stallion! Ah!” so the Houston rapper, who played a fictionalized version of herself, declared.
The fun continued in the post-credits scene. The “WAP” rhymer was seen signing on as Jennifer’s client before they celebrated their partnership with a twerking dance party in the office. “Oh, you are way more fun than my last lawyer!” the rapper said as the pair got down to “Body”. She-Hulk, meanwhile, responded, “I will kill for you, Megan Thee Stallion,” with Meg replying, “Dial it back.”
Of the post-credits scene, director Kat Coiro claimed in an interview that it was an absolute necessity. “Tatiana is the world’s biggest Megan Thee Stallion fan, so she was just vibrating with excitement,” she told Polygon. “We actually added that dancing scene so that Tatiana could have a scene with Megan, which is where we learned that Tatiana is an amazing twerker.”
Meanwhile, head writer Jessica Gao shared that the producers had been debating which celebrity would best work for the role. “There was a big, varied list of different people that constantly changed,” Gao shared with Variety. “And the type of celebrity really ebbed and flowed, too, depending on what kind of jokes we wanted to make.”
After they decided that Meg is the perfect person for the cameo, Tatiana revealed that she “probably was pretty close to tears with excitement.” She added, “I’m such a big fan of hers.”
MCU fans, meanwhile, were shocked with the twerking scene. “Go to 2008 after I watched ‘Iron Man‘ and tell me in 14 years I’ll be watching #MeganTheStallion and #SheHulk twerk I’d call you insane,” someone tweeted. “did we all just watch she-hulk twerk with megan thee stallion because what,” another fan reacted.
