NCIS star Pauley Perrette has taken to social media with a touching post for the anniversary of the attacks on New York on September 11, 2001. Her 714,000 Twitter followers were touched by her tribute to three family members who all served as firemen and have sadly died recently.

Pauley’s followers have sent their condolences for the loss of her father, uncle and cousin.

A huge number of fans posted comments beneath the NCIS star’s tweet on the 21st anniversary of 9/11.

She wrote: “I just lost my Asst Fire Chief dad, my Fire Chief Uncle & my Sergeant Cousin Wayne.

“All AMAZING #firemen. My CousinWayne: My twin, My friend, My EVERYTHING.”

“Was committed to honor the #911 #firefighters for life. Below is his back tattoo. Let’s all #NeverForget911 #firstresponders.” (sic)

The actress included an image of Wayne’s tattoo, which featured a skyline of the World Trade Centre and a firefighter’s helmet bearing the number ‘343’ in tribute to firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11.

She also shared three images of her family members, with Pauley sharing a drink in one of them.

Her fans were deeply moved by the tribute and replied with condolences for her recent losses.

Fan @Fclovepauleyp replied: “So sorry P, for your loss… My condolences… be strong!

“I love you so much! I’m so proud of you, bc you’re very amazing… after all you’re there, you have faith… God bless you always! And comfort all heart for all loss.” (sic)

Lisa Germaine commented: “My deepest condolences on the loss of these three important men in your life.

“That amount of grief is overwhelming. Find comfort in knowing they are watching over you together.”

“Pauley, I am so sorry that you have been through so much,” @CurvyProf wrote.

“The fact that you are still standing is a testimony to your strength. You are inspirational.”

Martyn McCormack said: “I am sorry for your loss and the loss of real firefighting heroes. God Bless all firefighters, take care.”

“My deepest condolences to your losses,” Lulu Wild tweeted.

“Those men were true heroes devoted to protecting people going through unimaginable crisis. I hope they’re at peace, and I’m sending all the love.”

And Dyanna Flynn commented: “I’m very sorry for your loss. These brave men did unimaginably challenging work and I salute their memory.”

The former NCIS actress has also recently opened up about her recovery from a stroke last year.

In a video, she told her fans: “Hey guys, oh my God, it’s September 2. It’s a one-year anniversary since I had a stroke. And I’m still here.”

NCIS season 20 premieres Monday, September 19 on CBS in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
