Emmerdale fans were in a speculative mood after many predicted Chas Dingle’s relationship with Paddy Kirk is doomed after predicting the mum-of-one will cheat on him with Al Chapman.

During Friday’s instalment (June 24) of the popular ITV soap, things started to get emotional between the long-standing couple after the village vet opened up his heart to his wife as she struggles to come to terms with her mother’s terminal illness.

Over the past few days, the dynamic duo has come to blows over how they will tell their son Aaron about Faith’s cancer diagnosis after the matriarchal character admitted she wanted to stop taking chemotherapy after two rounds of treatment.

But as the pair celebrated the end of the week with a lovely private meal for two, Paddy reassured Chas that he would be with her every step of the way as she prepares herself for Faith’s ultimate passing.

However, viewers were less than confident that the pair would stay together during this dark period in their relationship after they spotted Chas received a text from Al during her meal with Paddy.

It read: "Hey there, maybe we should have a chat?" to which she replied: "Tommorrow. Midday. Not in the village."

Their secretive messages sent fans into a flurry as many predicted an upcoming cheating storyline after she told Al to meet her outside the village away from prying eyes.

After the jaw-dropping scene, fans flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts on the heartbreaking moment online.

One user penned: “How does Chas cheat on a loveable Paddy with a boring man like Al? He makes Mackenzie look interesting [cry laughing emoji] #Emmerdale.”

Another added: “Faith ‘A good man beside you’ who is Chas about to cheat on [three shrug emojis] #Emmerdale.”

A third penned: “If Chas cheats again on Paddy I'm absolutely done with her #emmerdale.”
