Paul Burrell leaves I’m A Celebrity camp gobsmacked with bum tattoo

Helen and Paul race to escape from latest I'm a Celeb trial

Fans are learning more and more about this year’s bunch of campmates on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa and in Thursday’s episode, Paul Burrell accidentally reveals a bit more than even he probably expected to.

As Paul bends over, new arrival and former King of the Jungle, Joe Swash, is quick to notice some tattoos on Paul’s bottom.

Joe shouts: “Let’s have a look at those a*** tattoos.”

While Paul bashfully denies the accusation by replying: “I haven’t got any tattoos…” Joe is sure of what he’s seen.

Soon more campmates get involved, with Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo joining in as she predicts: “I’ve got money on a castle…oh, [it’s] a dragon!”

Jordan Banjo asks: “What does the Chinese say?” as Paul explains: “’Made in Britain’. [I got them] a long time ago.”

“Did you show the Queen? Have a look at this your highness!” asks Joe.

Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul reveals: “No! Diana said, ‘Oh, cheeky!’”

Elsewhere in camp tensions rise and a storm rolls in, and as night falls the celebrities do their best to keep the rain out of their beds and belongings.

Janice Dickinson exclaims: “The lightning is cracking right over the head of us! I don’t want to sleep out there.”

Joe doesn’t seem to mind at all, joking: “This is good! I love it,” as Toff adds: “It’s bad. It’s a big bad storm!”

Once the worst of the storm has passed Phil Tufnell is quick to look at the positives.

“People were diving for sheets and getting rucksacks out the way and it was pouring in with rain and there were leaks,” he recalls.

“It was great fun. We sprung into action, we did well. We work very well as a team to secure the area and it sort of worked”

Tensions were also running high as Janice and Fatima Whitbread got frustrated at their fellow campmates for not pulling their weight when it came to their chores.

Keen to get the camp in order, Fatima switches up the names on the chore board again, with her insisting: “Everything’s got to work.”

Jordan, in particular, wasn’t all that happy after finally getting a good night’s sleep because he was no longer on fire duty, only to be woken up by Fatima asking him to be responsible for the fire again.

They weren’t the only two to let the chores get between them.

As Janice does her own washing up, she tells Fatima: “Carol didn’t help with the washing up immediately.”

Janice confronts Carol Vorderman by saying: “You just plopped those dishes down in the sink. I just went and did all the dishes.”

Carol replies sarcastically: “Did you? Oh well. Oh, great. Well done Janice.”

Fans will need to tune in to see if these little niggles turn into more of a problem for the celebrities as the days go on.

I’m A Celebrity South Africa continues tonight on ITV and ITVX at 9pm.
