Paul's tragic diagnosis and Aaron escapes justice in Corrie tonight
In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Wednesday, April 5), the seriousness of Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) health issues begins to settle in as he battles with his potential diagnosis.
Paul has been struggling to use his hand ever since being knocked over by Carla Barlow (Alison King) in the Underworld van, however, it was later revealed that the accident was not the cause of his symptoms.
After moving his things into the flower shop flat, things are beginning to look up as Paul secures work as a kitchen porter at the Bistro.
But they soon take a shocking turn when he attends his appointment with the neurologist who tells him he might be suffering from onset motor neurone disease.
Paul is left terrified, sitting in silent tears in his new flat staring at his withered hand – but will he tell his family the truth as he heads to a meal with them?
Elsewhere, Aaron Sandford (James Craven) is let off the hook as he finds out Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) has changed her story following her rape ordeal.
When Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) verbally attacks him on the street for raping Amy, Aaron puts him straight saying she has changed her story.
Aadi and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) call to see Amy, and it is clear Summer is not convinced by Amy’s U-turn.
Later when Amy’s phone pings with a picture of Aadi and Aaron clearly enjoying themselves at a gig in town, Summer clocks Amy’s discomfort.
Also in the episode, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) misses his chance with Miley Hodge (Frankie-Jae Simmonds) after she comes to visit due to a gift-buying mishap.
Asking Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) for advice on a gift to buy her ahead of her arrival, she tells him that she likes basketball but, mishearing, Craig buys a baseball bat and mitt.
Craig kicks himself over the mistake and as they play a game of catch Craig can see Miley is not enjoying herself and Faye feels for him.
As Faye says goodbye to Miley and Jackson at the team stop, Craig confesses to Faye that he feels jealous of Jackson Hodge (Rhys Cadman).
In the solicitor’s office, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) spots the chemistry between Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) after he finds her dining alone in the Rovers Return.
She reminds her that his sole intention is to get her into bed, but how will she react?
Finally, Brian Packham’s (Peter Gunn) dreams of a trip to Italy are dashed as he rallies around the community for help to make it a reality.
Brian tells Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) that he’s planning a trip to Napoli to stay with his cousin Isabella and wonders if she’d look after the Kabin for him.
Rita refuses and Brian resolves to ask Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) instead, telling her about his plans to visit Isabella in Napoli and how he needs her help.
Mary assumes he’d like her to accompany him and confirms that she’d be delighted, however, Brian receives an email from Isabella telling him that she’ll visit him in Weatherfield as her flat In Naples is currently under renovation leaving them both disappointed.
