Rachel Stevens pays heartfelt tribute to Paul Cattermole
S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole dies aged 46
Rachel Stevens returned to work at Heart Radio on Saturday afternoon where she paid a sweet tribute to her S Club 7 bandmate Paul Cattermole. Since his death, Paul’s bandmates and family have taken to their social media to express their love for Paul.
Taking a moment to pay an emotional tribute to her late bandmate, she expressed: “Thank you so much for joining me.
“As much as I love being with you for the Heart 00s party playing all my favourite songs, it’s a bit of an emotional show for me today, but it feels so incredibly special to be able to honour Paul.
“We [S Club 7] are heartbroken, but we are all grateful for the memories we shared together.
“So I’d like to take a moment to play you this, which is a song that holds lots of memories for me, it’s S Club 7 Two In A Million.”
Despite the band’s recent heartache, Rachel did manage to paint on a smile as she headed to work.
Rachel stood in for former Pussycat Doll member Ashley Roberts and will host the show for the next few Saturdays whilst the star is on holiday.
When news broke of Paul’s death, Rachel first paid tribute to her bandmate on her Instagram and said: “Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages of love and support.
“The outpouring of love for our Paul has been so incredibly special and has meant so much. I hope he knew how loved he was.
“Such a kind, gentle and sensitive soul with the most incredible energy and such a wild free spirit. He would light up any room.
“We are heartbroken but so grateful for the memories we all shared. An absolute shining star who we will love and miss always. RIP darling Paul.”
S Club 7 issued a joint statement following his death which also read: “Thank you to all our incredible fans and friends who have shared their love for our brother Paul.
“In this difficult time for all of us, it gives us strength to know he’ll never be forgotten.”

The 00’s band have vowed that their 25th-anniversary tour will still go ahead and will more than likely include a tribute to Paul.
Sources close to the band told The Mail on Sunday that while it is too early to publicly make a decision over how their 11 concerts will proceed, they want them to take place because the late singer was so excited about them.
One insider said: “Paul was so excited, though he seemed awkward on the outside he was looking forward to reliving some of the old, happy times with the group.”
