Richard Madeley breaks silence on rumours he’s set to make epic return to I’m A Celebrity | The Sun

RICHARD Madeley has shut down rumours he’s set to appear on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.

The presenter, 66, was back to host Good Morning Britain today and was quizzed by Susanna Reid about making a return to the jungle.

It comes as the first nine stars taking part in an all-stars series for the show's 20th anniversary have been confirmed.

But Richard ruled out making a comeback.

"You should never go back," he said this morning.

Susanna explained: "You wouldn't be going back, we're not asking you to go back to Wales!"

Richard then pointed out the differences between I'm A Celeb being in Australia and South Africa.

He said: "I quite enjoy the jeopardy of it being live.

"It's pre-recorded so the viewers can't torment you."

Richard agreed to star in I'm A Celebrity 2021 in Wales.

We live in seaside town where BBC show is set – but there’s a HUGE downside

After isolating away from his wife Judy Finnigan, Richard entered the castle with his co-stars.

But after suffering a health scare he was forced out of the show.

He explained: "I broke the Covid bubble for about two hours so I couldn't go back."

After leaving the show, Richard insisted he was "as fit as a fiddle" following a dramatic few days – and gave the reason behind his "disturbing" medical emergency.

He said that he "wasn't functioning at all" when he woke up "incoherent" and "unable to string a sentence together".

Asked if he knew when he was taken to hospital that he wouldn't be able to get back into camp, Richard explained: "No, the penny didn't drop – mind you, I wasn't functioning at all.

"I think what happened to me was I got dehydrated, that's all it was, but dehydration is actually quite disturbing – basically I think I'd been up for about 20 hours, I knew I was feeling thirsty and I'm quite bad at remembering to drink water.

"As I snuggled into my sleeping bag, and it was freezing, I thought I'd not had a big drink in a while but I'll do it when I wake up in the morning.
