Sharon Osbourne reignites feud with Simon Cowell as she brands talent shows ‘dated’ after BGT announces new judge | The Sun

SHARON Osbourne has reignited her six-year feud with former friend Simon Cowell.

The 70-year-old fell out with her ex co-star after she was sacked as a judge on The X Factor.

Following yesterday's news that Alan Carr will replace David Walliams on Britain's Got Talent alongside Simon, Sharon slammed it as "dated".

“I love Alan Carr, he’s a great guy, he will really add the to the show and so many people will tune in to watch him, he’s a lovely guy," Sharon told TalkTV.

“But I think it's like a variety show, and you can only go so long before you've trawled everything… These type of shows I think are very dated.

"I always used to say that after one or two seasons, if you’ve been watching that show and you go in and audition you know what you’re going to get so don’t act surprised or hurt because you’ve seen everybody else go to the slaughter."

She added: “It's over trawled here, so they bring talent from around the world – like they do in America.

"They'll bring all Europeans over, just like they stood in line to rehearse when it’s set up before."

Sharon and Simon have embroiled in a long-running spat since he dropped her from The X Factor back in 2017.

She claimed he snubbed her from the talent competitionfor being too old.

BRITAIN'S GOT ALAN

Alan Carr to replace David Walliams on Britain's Got Talent judges panel

Sharon said in 2019: "Simon goes 'She’s old. We need somebody young.' So if you want young, fire yourself!"

Stand-up comic Alan, 46, will join the BGT panel alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

The Chatty Man star has been in discussions with producers for weeks, alongside several other candidates.

But he quickly emerged as the runaway favourite among bosses including Simon and is now being offered a contract to join the ITV juggernaut.

A source said: “Alan is joining the line-up, it just has to be him – he’s brilliant.

"The deal is being finalised, but it's details now – and he’s totally up for it too. It’s the perfect hiring all round.”

The Sun revealed in November that David would step down from Britain’s Got Talent after a decade judging on the ITV show.
