Sienna loses entire life savings in Hollyoaks twist as her dreams are destroyed

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) was left reeling in Hollyoaks as she came to realise that she’d lost her entire life savings on a horse racing tip that, quite literally, didn’t pay off.

The former high school teacher, as viewers know, is determined to buy a luxury home and will do just about anything to get her hands on the cash in order to do maker her dreams a reality, including gambling her fortune at the races.

Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) – like the loving, kind and all-around sweetheart that he is – was determined to make Sienna’s dreams come true, so when he came into possession of a hot tip about the upcoming race, he informed his girlfriend to place her money on Runaway Ginger.

Sienna withdrew her entire life savings, that is £10,000 in cash, which left Ethan feeling somewhat uncomfortable, but the show’s resident schemer was feeling lucky, adamant that she would win.

As it turns out, Ethan’s red-hot tip was, in fact, accurate, with Runaway Ginger finishing in first place, meaning that Sienna would’ve reaped the rewards and won an absolute fortune.

That is, if she placed the bet in the first place.

Having had her head turned by Lord Rafe Harcourt (Chris Gordon), the former teacher decided to instead gamble her money on his horse – Better Than Average – instead, which ultimately lost the race.

Sienna was devastated, but Ethan had little to no sympathy when he discovered what had transpired, wounded that his beloved girlfriend put her faith in a virtual stranger instead of him and honestly who could blame him?

Hurt from the betrayal, Ethan questioned if he and Sienna have a future together, believing that his other half sees him as insignificant and ‘beneath’ her.

Sienna, however, was crushed at the mere thought of losing Ethan, determined to show him how much he means to her as she turned down an offer to spend the afternoon with Rafe, before telling Ethan that he means more to her than any amount of cash.

Aw.

The schemer, however, isn’t giving up on her dreams without a fight, as she devised a plan to befriend Rafe in a bid to get her hands on his cash. But will it pay off?
