Stacey says goodbye in EastEnders as she stays with Jean – away from Walford
Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) agreed to return to the Square in EastEnders, but Stacey (Lacey Turner) could see that her mum wasn’t ready to do so, and thus vowed to stay with her until she is.
The mother and daughter duo reconnected earlier this week when Stacey headed to a caravan park with Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Singh Deol), Martin Fowler (James Bye) and her kids.
Jean was serving as the waitress in the restaurant located nearby, much to Stacey’s shock. Horrified, Jean refused to speak to Stacey, but Kheerat encouraged her to hear her out.
Jean ultimately did so, and upon reconnecting with her daughter, she revealed that she’d been staying with Mo Harris (Laila Morse).
The three Slater icons caught up – and had a blast doing so.
Afterwards, however, Jean revealed that she can never return to Walford after what transpired the last time she was there.
Stacey was quick to remind Jean that she wasn’t well at the time, and that she has nothing to be ashamed of, a sentiment that Lily (Lilia Turner) later reiterated to her as well.
Jean therefore agreed to come home.
Upon getting ready, however, Stacey could see that her mum wasn’t ready to return, and therefore she decided to stay put.
Subsequent scenes saw Stacey waying goodbye to her kids for a short while, as she and Jean remained at the caravan park – together.
Don’t stay away too long, Stace!
