Later this evening, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi hits Channel 4 at 8:40pm. The movie is the second instalment in the sequel trilogy, and continued Rey’s powerful story of finding out who she was and how she became a Jedi Knight, while also finishing off Luke Skywalker’s story. But Rey’s story is not over just yet – even after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. And her journey will reportedly continue in the years to come on Disney Plus.

Noted Star Wars leaker, Mike Zeroh, previously posted a video detailing how Rey Skywalker will continue her story after the events of the sequel trilogy.

At the end of the trilogy, Rey walked off into the desert of Tatooine after declaring her new surname was Skywalker. As far as fans are aware, she is now the only remaining Jedi in the universe. And Zeroh claims the Empire are still keen to destroy her and everything she stands for.

The YouTuber frequently reports on rumours about the Star Wars series, but he has not always been correct, so it is important to take his words with some scepticism. With that said, he revealed in a video that Rey would be getting her own Disney Plus TV show in the coming years focussing on her building her own version of the Jedi Order.

He said this live-action show would have a “major redesign” of Rey before going on to tease her future as the last remaining Jedi.

Zeroh said: “The series is said to also involve a big tease of Rey’s new Jedi Order. [It] will give fans a glimpse of what the Jedi Order is set to be like after Episode Nine.”

In another video, Zeroh added: “It’s also noted that [Star Wars writer] Jon Favreau is the one responsible for creating a brand new Skywalker [character]. It is said to be a new version of Cade Skywalker in live-action form.”

Cade Skywalker was a descendant of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars Legends novels and comic books throughout the past 20 years. He was, most notably, a smuggler as well as a Jedi, and the last remaining member of the Skywalker family.

Zeroh went on: “[Cade] is different, as he is the son of Rey Skywalker. He is going to be born the same way Anakin [Skywalker] was [via immaculate conception], in a different light.”

Zeroh added that Star Wars boss Jon Favreau is creating a “canon piece” of storytelling that would connect Rey and Kylo Ren / Ben Solo forever.

He said: “… Both Ben Solo’s spirit and Rey are now one and she will give birth to Cade through the Force – very similar to what Shmi Skywalker did with Anakin.”

He added that Daisy has said she “would never return” to the series, however, the British star revealed quite the opposite in an interview earlier this year.

Ridley told Empire: “I mean, never say never. I’m always open to a revisit. But also the beautiful thing is it’s this wonderful, huge universe with all of these stories that have yet to be told. I think there’s a lot of cool things to be made before any potential revisit.”

Ridley added: “I don’t think it’ll ever feel properly like goodbye because it’s such a wonderful little web of people. It’s a really nice club to be a part of. Plus, I had such a good time. I loved my experience. In terms of revisiting the character, I think that’s a bye-bye for now.”

Zeroh also released another video about a separate Star Wars TV show on the Disney streaming service. Except, this time, the TV series would be animated.

What’s more, he claimed that the role of Rey Skywalker would not be played by Ridley. Instead, the warrior would be taken on by an actor from the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

Zeroh said: “Daisy will be replaced as Rey Skywalker in the planned sequel series, where Lucasfilm has chosen Keira Knightley to lend her voiceover work and facial scans to portray the character of Rey in animated form.”

He went on to say Knightley was “requested” by Chief Executive Officer of Disney Bob Chapek.

The Star Wars franchise is available to watch on Disney Plus now.
